Program Descriptions
Ecosystem Expedition drop-in session: Oceans, forests, wetlands, deserts, tundra, grasslands, mountains and more. These are the crucial ecosystems of the Earth that all life relies on. Join the Discovery Centre’s GenAction team to learn more about the importance of ecosystems, the species that live in them, and how it all connects to climate action. Be ready to use a microscope, test water samples, play fun games, and do simple crafts!
Fueling Our Future science show: What sources of power do you know? This new demo-filled science show will get you thinking about what energy is and where it comes from. Watch as our scientists perform the flaming hand, create smoke without fire, and test tidal energy.
Sail the Sour Seas? science show: Fire, acid, and shellfish. No, it’s not a Maritime seafood recipe. In this engaging live science show we will connect how humans’ CO2 emissions are causing our oceans to become more acidic and explore the impact this will have on shellfish populations and all of us who depend on them.
