The NS public libraries summer tour is back with our special partner Discovery Centre.

Featuring their new “GenAction” Science Shows and Workshops:  an initiative to increase the understanding of Climate Change science for kids, empowering them to take action and become leaders in climate action, now and into the future.

Delivered by Discovery Centre staff In public libraries across the province. The Discovery Centre’s Nova Scotian Library summer tour is a GenAction initiative, supported by the Government of Canada.

Science Show: Sail the Sour Seas?

In this engaging live science show, we will connect how humans’ CO2 emissions are causing our oceans to become more acidic and explore the impact this will have on shellfish populations. All ages.

Workshop #1: Clean up your Coast!

We’ll get our hands dirty in this action-orientated workshop that explores the challenge of cleaning up long-lasting litter from Earth’s oceans. Ages: 5-7. Registration required.

Workshop #2: Aliens in our Ecosystems! 

In this interactive workshop, we will explore a sample of species that are affecting us here in Nova Scotia and discuss what we as citizen scientists can do about this alien invasion! Ages: 8-12. Registration required.
